GMWiki:Release Timeline

The GMWiki has been here for over a year. Much progress has been made in that time. A lot of afternoons were spent with cramped hands but progress was made. Yet it is still in its growing stages. Not many people know about it, and it isn't close to the wiki I envisioned a year ago. Today I discovered that Yoyo Games has a wiki on their beta site. Finally, I've got some real motivation to finish the GMWiki--competition. This is an ordered list of the tasks I deem required to 'finish' GMWiki in my eyes.
- Document all GM6 functions
- Currently, we are stalled somewhere around tile_layer_shift. Catscratches has been a major contributor in that region, and I may whip up an award for our current major contributors.
- Game Maker History
- This includes not only previous versions of GM, but historically important websites like gmcommunity.com and the old EZ Board
- GML Introduction
- I've always wanted to do this. New GM users will be introduced to GML for the first time.
- Publicize
- This is the big event. I'll be actively spreading the word about the GMWiki for days on end.
- Community
- As a hopeful side effect of the publicizing, more users will flock here. They don't have to contribute, but I'll see the page views count. That would bring me great joy. Seeing the GMWiki become a success would be my greatest contribution to the Game Maker community.
