GMWiki:Contribute
From GMWiki, the Gamemaker Wiki.
roelcnabobo Do you want to help improve the GMWiki? Want to know what you can do? Well there is plenty you can do to help! The wiki is small, so it isn't as easy to help as it is on say, Wikipedia.

[edit] What you can do
- Import the functions from the GM Manual
- Write some Requested Articles
- Relate articles with See Also sections
- Document some undocumented pages
- Document some DLLs
- Pick some things from the Contribute! category
[edit] Contributing can be painless
Doesn't sound like fun? Well heres a system I've been following that works pretty well:
- Find a GMC topic.
- Look on the GMWiki to see if it is already answered somehow.
- If it isn't, write up a general answer to that topic in the wiki
- Reply with a link to the GMWiki, perhaps with some light explanation to make it more specific to the problem.
I've been doing this for a while and it works pretty good. Its almost impossible to think of what people are looking for on the GMWiki when it comes to writing an article. But when things are written as they are needed, its virtually painless to envision what someone will need to solve a problem.
[edit] Write some Tutorials
Got a tutorial hanging around? Add it to the tutorial namespace. To put it in that namespace, take the following example. You want to make a tutorial about 'Moving Platforms'. So, make the page at Tutorial:Moving Platforms. More info is available at GMWiki:Tutorials
[edit] Guidelines
Although we urge you to contribute, you can't just contribute how you want. These guidelines are a bare minimum requirement.
